Multilingual Family Interview for January 2019
This month, we interviewed Khadijah (@thekidspart) and her trilingual (English, Arabic, and Sindhi) family who live in Ireland.
Khadijah who has a unique background, is half English/Irish/ Singaporean and her husband is Pakistani. They have three kids that they are currently homeschooling.
One of their language challenges is the lack of reading materials available in Sindhi but a success is her son being able to read Arabic books from a young age. -
Today, we interview Nina and her British/Spanish family. Her son is learning English, Castellano and Valencio Spanish. Nina’s son was diagnosed on the autism spectrum when he was younger and there may have been challenges along the way. But with the success of him going from being non-verbal to speaking three languages is really wonderful and awesome. One of his favorite activities is drawing in his sketchbook.
